Presentation: An Overview of new Oracle Development Tools

2015 will be a revolutionary year for Oracle developers. Oracle will be releasing a lot of new development tools that will help improve how you develop with Oracle.
This presentation will highlight some of these new/updated tools which include:
APEX 5 and its new Page Designer: “The world’s most advanced browser-based IDE”
node-oracledb: Oracle Database driver for Node.js
SQLcl: Oracle SQL Developer Meets SQL*Plus
Open source tools

Speaker: Martin D’Souza, ClariFit

  • Martin D’Souza is the co-founder at ClariFit, a consulting firm which specializes in APEX and PL/SQL development and training. He is also a volunteer director for ODTUG.
  • Martin’s career has seen him hold a range of positions within award-winning companies. His experience in the technology industry has been focused on developing database-centric web applications using the Oracle technology stack.
  • He is the author of the popular blog, www.TalkApex.com, a designated Orace ACE Director. He has coauthored and authored various APEX books, and is an active participant in various open source projects, such as Logger. Recently Martin and ClariFit launched a new initiative focused on Oracle open source development. The new site is:http://oraopensource.com.
  • Martin has also presented at numerous international conferences, such as APEXposed, COUG, Oracle OpenWorld, and Kscope. He holds a computer engineering degree from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada.
