Presentation: Accessing your SQL Server Data from Oracle on Linux – for FREE!
This presentation will take you through the steps to access your SQL Server data from within Oracle running on Linux.
- Many businesses today run a mixture of Oracle and SQL Server databases. Often it is necessary to combine both in reports and business processes.
- It is possible to use Oracle database links to view your SQL Server data using ODBC from Linux. ODBC drivers are available at a cost from various 3rd-party vendors as well as Oracle’s gateway for SQL Server.
- But in the spring of 2012, Microsoft released an ODBC driver for 64-bit Linux that provides this functionality – for FREE.
