“RMAN is ok for the simple recoveries but when things get complicated it’s just not good enough.” Anyone who’s been a DBA for any length of time has heard that statement but is it fair?
This presentation is intended to assess RMAN’s ability to recover in various recovery scenarios and discuss the alternative in multitenant environments.

  • Ray first started working as an Oracle DBA in 1992. He joined CGI as a Senior DBA in 2006 and specializes in Disaster Recover, HA Solutions & Database Tuning. Currently the Team Lead for the DBServices Call Center his passion revolves around learning, teaching and sharing.
