March 19th Presentation featuring Simon Pane from Pythian

Presentation: It’s time to get rid of your tnsnames.ora file – there are better alternatives!

Surprisingly many companies continue to provide Oracle Service Name Resolution solely through the TNSNAMES.ORA file. Whether that file resides locally or in some networked location it still remains an unstructured file with critical data needed for application connectivity.
This presentation covers alternatives for moving the Oracle Service Name data out of the TNSNAMES.ORA file and into data stores where the data is structured, protected, backed up, and replicated for high availability.
