Presentation: Oracle RAC with Data Guard and Golden Gate – Examination of 2 X 3-Node Clusters with 2 Data Centers.

High availability services for Oracle provide reliability and recoverability via products like Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard and Golden Gate. These are part of Oracle’s high availability road map and is documented in the Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA). Join Steve for an examination of a multi-node RAC environment that utilizes Data Guard, the Broker and also has Golden Gate in the mix.

  • A planned failover and a connectivity test will be demonstrated.

Steve held the position of Database Technical Specialist with DBCORP and CGI for 10 years and has owned and operated Complete DBA Inc. for the past 8 years. He is currently a Partner at First4 Database Partners Inc.
  • Steve has excelled in all areas of database management including training, mentoring, development, backup & recovery, performance tuning, security, installation and configuration, object management and resource management.
  • He has presented at numerous national, international and local database venues including COUG, CIPS, Oracle World and IOUG.
